Backup & Restore Your RuneScape: Dragonwilds World Save

Managing worlds on your own RuneScape: Dragonwilds server typically includes making backups and restoring them if needed. Whether you encountered an issue or simply want to reset back to a previous version of the map, you have tools to help you. By hosting with Nitrado, we enable you to have full control over the world. In this guide, we’ll show you how to automatically and manually restore your world in RuneScape: Dragonwilds 👏

Automatic Server Backups

Your server automatically creates backups every day that can be restored at any time. You cannot control when the exact time these backups are created. If you want to control when it’s created, then skip to the “Manual Server Backups” section. These automatic backups will restore the server setup to exactly when it was made. This is the easiest way to restore your RuneScape: Dragonwilds server.

1. Head towards your Nitrado Web Interface and stop the server.
2. Navigate to Tools > Restore Backup on the left.
   
3. Find the backup you want, then click Restore on the right.
   
   Use the Date to determine which one is right for you.
4. When prompted, click Restore again to confirm the changes.

Manual Server Backups

For those who want to create their own backups and restore them, manually doing it is required. This involves you accessing the server files and downloading your existing world save to be used as a backup in the future. We’ll show you how to download and upload backups for your RuneScape: Dragonwilds server.

Downloading Your World Backup

1. Head towards your Nitrado Web Interface and stop the server.
2. Navigate to Tools > File Browser on the left.
   
3. Go to this path: dragonwilds / RSDragonwilds / Saved / SaveGames
   
4. Find your world save and click the Download Icon on the right.
   
5. Save this on your computer as a backup for later.

Uploading Your World Backup

1. Stop the server from your Nitrado Web Interface.
2. Navigate to Tools > File Browser on the left.
3. Go to this path: dragonwilds / RSDragonwilds / Saved / SaveGames
4. Do either of the following:
   • Click the Delete Icon for your existing world file.
     
   • Click the Rename Icon for your existing world file (then rename it).
     
5. Click Upload File on the right, then select your downloaded backup.
   
6. Make sure the backup has the same name as your active world.
7. Afterwards, start up the server and join to confirm it worked.
