V RISING SERVER FILES
Your V Rising configuration files offer a way to provide players with admin access, ban players, and change your overall server options. You can access those files by going to the left of your control panel and under “Settings”, select the “Config Files” option to access each of those.
ADMINLIST.TXT
The adminlist.txt file is the location where player Steam64IDs can be added to give players admin on your dedicated V Rising server. This allows players to access all admin commands to control the server and players on it.
BANLIST.TXT
When players are causing issues for your server, the banlist.txt file offers a way to permanently remove those players from your server by adding their Steam64IDs here so that they cannot join back.
SERVERGAMESETTINGS.JSON
The ServerGameSettings.json file offers another great way to edit all of your server settings aside from using the “General” settings editor. This includes everything from your V Rising world’s gamemode, world options, multipliers, time settings, and stats.
SERVERHOSTSETTINGS.JSON
Inside the ServerHostSettings.json file, you can find all of your main server options. Many of these options are the same options found in the “General” setting editor area. Whether you’re looking to change the server name, description, save name, password, or if your server is secure, all of these options can be adjusted here in this file!
HOW TO JOIN A V RISING SERVER
Start the V Rising game on Steam.
On the main menu, press “Play” and then “Online Play”.
Select “PvE” or “PvP” depending on what your server’s gamemode is set to and then click “Find Servers”.
At the top of the server browser, you will need to press “Display all Servers & Settings” to unlock the “Direct Join” option at the bottom.
You can now select the “Direct Join” option at the very bottom of the browser.
A “Direct Connect to Server” window will appear. Enter your exact IP address and port just like this:
Lastly, press “Connect” and you will now begin connecting to that V Rising server!
BECOMING AN ADMIN ON YOUR V RISING SERVER
On your V Rising server panel, to the left under “SETTINGS” press the “Config Files” option.
In your config files area, you will already be editing the “adminstlist.txt” file needed to add administrators to your server.
In this file, add the Steam64ID of each player you’d like to give admin to on your V Rising server one ID per line.
After adding those IDs, press “Save changes” at the bottom and then restart your V Rising server.
Each player Steam64ID added in the adminlist.txt file will now have administrator access to your server!
FINDING YOUR STEAMID64
Gather the Steam names of each player you’d like to find the Steam64IDs for.
Load the SteamID I/O website and here, add the username of a player in the lookup input.
Upon lookup, you will see that username’s SteamID64 listed below.
Copy that ID and you can now use that ID in both your adminlist.txt and banlist.txt files.
USING V RISING CONSOLE & COMMANDS ON YOUR SERVER
To begin, the V Rising console will need to be enabled. Open “Steam”, go to your game library, right-click on V Rising, and select “Properties…”.
Under the “GENERAL” section, locate the “Launch Options” setting.
Add the launch option “-console” to this area.
You can now exit that window and start the V Rising game.
At any point while you’re at the main menu or playing in-game, you will now be able to open the V Rising console with the tilde/”~” key on your keyboard.
In the V Rising game console, you can type commands here and press the “Enter” key to issue those.
