How to Find The Abomination

The Valheim Abomination is a swamp monster, but don’t expect to find one right away. You definitely won’t find the abomination as often as skeletons, and it’s much harder to spot at that. To find an abomination, you’ll need to look for large logs in more open water areas.

The best thing to do is to travel through swamps as fast as you can. While doing so, keep an eye on the water areas. You don’t have to spot the monster yourself, because there’s a chance that the abomination will spot you first. Just make sure you’re close enough to the water and the abomination will make itself known and attack you.

The Abomination – Tips and Tricks

Now that you’ve found The Abomination, it’s important to know that:

• The Abomination will not regenerate HP. If you need to step away from the fight, or if it runs away, you can leave it alone without worrying about it regaining health. When you’re ready, you can jump right back into battle!
• If an Abomination does run away, as long as you keep track of the direction it was going you will be able to track it down.
• When tracking an Abomination, you can listen and look for splashing. This will let you know if one is within the area.
• Due to the difficulty of the Abomination, it’s important to ensure other monsters will not get in the way. We recommend clearing all monsters from the area before fighting the Abomination.
• If you’re fighting the Abomination in a swamp, it’s important to keep in mind that you’ll be wet which results in a debuff to your stamina regeneration. When fighting an Abomination with melee, having mead on hand for stamina regeneration will help to keep you alive.

When it comes to fighting an Abomination, due to it being a tree your best bet is a bow with a lot of fire arrows. Using the bow, you can run around the Abomination while firing arrows from a safe distance to ensure you cannot be hit.

While running around, you can use the safety of the trees around and between you and the Abomination to stay safe. It’s important to stay behind a tree especially when you’re firing arrows, to avoid the monster injuring you.

In addition, you can utilize melee weapons to take on the tree creature, however, this can be quite dangerous. Since the Abomination has AoE attacks, you’ll need to spend time dodging these to ensure your survival. In addition, they have a sweep attack that can be difficult to dodge and could very well kill you. With this in mind, we recommend sticking to a bow for the safest strategy.
