ARK: Survival Ascended Roadmap – Introduction
ARK: Survival Ascended is the successor to the extremely popular ARK: Survival Evolved, bringing with it Unreal Engine 5 graphics, flowing foliage, a revamped story, and so much more. This game is more popular than ever and with its ever-growing community, there has been a desire for a roadmap to know what is next for ASA. On December 2nd, 2023 during the ARK Extra Life 2023 event, Studio Wildcard delivered on that request where they officially announced a massive roadmap. Containing DLCs, expansions, new game modes, and more, there is now a lot of content that can be expected between now and 2025. To ensure you’re informed, we’ll outline the entire roadmap for ARK: Survival Ascended and everything you will be able to play!
ARK: Survival Ascended Roadmap & Release Calendar
To start, below is a current look at the roadmap for ASA. The graphic features all future DLC, a launch date for ARK: Survival of the Fittest and the ARK Animated Series, and much more. If this changes, the image will be updated based on ARK Community Crunches and official information shared by the ARK development team.
ARK: Survival Ascended Launch – October 2023
We begin our journey of ARK: Survival Ascended with the initial launch of the game. ASA was first released on PC (Steam) in October 2023, featuring The Island map, mods, and custom maps to enjoy. Not long after, the game would make its way over to Xbox & PC, launching full crossplay and crossplay mods for gamers to enjoy regardless of platform. Since then, the game has seen a resounding surge of players riding their favorite dinosaurs inside the ARKs with friends!
ARK: Survival Ascended Cryopods Launch – December 2023
In ARK: Survival Ascended, Cryopods has been a highly requested feature. This item offers survivors the ability to store and transport dinosaurs with ease. Thankfully, the team at Studio Wildcard has provided a definite response to this request that these items will arrive sometime in December 2023! It’ll then be time to catch em all!
ARK Survival of the Fittest – December 2023
From the initial release of the game on all platforms, the next feature to come in December of 2023 will be a revamped ARK Survival of the Fittest. In this gamemode, players can expect fast-paced combat against others where they’ll fight to survive. As the game progresses, players are pushed closer and closer toward an epic showdown between their dinosaur armies!
ARK The Animated Series – Early 2024
During an intermission between ARK: Survival Ascended roadmap DLC releases, players will be able to sit back and watch their favorite game series on TV! ARK The Animated series is finally set to be released in early 2024. Without spoiling too much, you can catch a sneak peek into the ARK series with the Season 1 trailer, out now!:
ASA DLC Scorched Earth – March 2024 (Canon Map)
Scorched Earth will be the second DLC to be brought to ARK: Survival Ascended, featuring a scorching desert landscape filled with dangerous dinosaurs to discover. You can expect the second ARK DLC to be released in March of 2024. The release of this DLC will also feature the first officially announced expansion pack that’ll come out alongside it. The expansion pack will be named Frontier Adventure and Western Pack, offering a set of cowboy/cowgirl clothing and accessories to boot.
ASA DLC The Center – May 2024 (Non-Canon Map)
For the third DLC release for ASA in May of 2024, survivors can expect The Center. This map had originally been a custom map mod created for ARK: Survival Evolved and was eventually brought into the game as a free DLC. In The Center, you and your friends will be able to expect a floating island, large mountains, dense forests, land flowing with lava, and more.
ASA DLC Aberration – July 2024 (Canon Map)
Staying on course as the fourth official map release and second canon DLC expected for July 2024, you and your friends will arrive in the damaged ARK known as Aberration. In this deadly radiated world, you’ll need to take advantage of new tools while fighting off creatures that have experienced incredible genetic mutations. Only the strongest will survive!
ASA DLC Ragnarok – September 2024 (Non-Canon Map)
Be ready to enter the Ragnarok DLC in September 2024, a large-scale Nordic-style map with brand-new creatures for your server. When this ARK: Survival Ascended DLC arrives, it’ll bring with it an active volcano, massive beaver dams, hot springs, and much more to enjoy with friends!
ASA DLC Extinction – October 2024 (Canon Map)
Moving back into the corruption, you can expect the ARK: Survival Ascended Extinction DLC to be released in October 2024. Featuring a ravaged Earth covered in corruption, players will experience burning hot deserts, sunken forests, and ice-cold lands to explore. With limited resources, you’ll need to fight to uncover the secrets of this ARK.
ARK: Survival Ascended Surprise! – November 2024
Everyone loves a surprise! With so much ARK: Survival Ascended roadmap DLC set to be released by this point, this surprise planned for November 2024 is sure to bring a lot of hype to the game. What do you think it’ll be?
ASA DLC Valguero – December 2024 (Non-Canon Map)
Experience a vast and diverse map when the ASA DLC Valguero releases in December 2024. The map will bring you and your friends into many unique environments from a mountainous forest to snowy white cliffs. With a rainbow that jets across the map, shooting stars at night, and the occasional auroras, we expect this map to be breathtaking when it arrives to ARK: Survival Ascended!
ASA DLC Genesis Part I – February 2025 (Canon Map)
What if ARK was only a simulation? In Genesis Part 1, you get to explore the concept of simulations and glitches. This ASA DLC includes six simulations to explore including the Arctic, Bog, Ocean, Volcano, Lunar, and a deadly final boss area. You’ll meet a friendly AI named HLN-A and more when you enter the Genesis simulations in February 2025!
ASA DLC Crystal Isles – April 2025 (Non-Canon Map)
Crystal Isle is as its name implies, a map coated with large crystals. Arriving for ARK: Survival Ascended in April 2025, on this DLC map you’ll meet new creatures that hold a surprise around every corner like the glowing Crystal Wyvern. As you and your friends trudge through the crystals, island engulfed in darkness, enormous bee hive, and bogs that await, will you survive?
ASA DLC Genesis Part II – May 2025 (Canon Map)
A continuation of the epic journey experienced in ARK: Survival Ascended Genesis Part I, Genesis Part II will be released in May 2025, taking players into outer space. On this new ARK, you’re placed on a colony ship known as the Genesis surrounded by a ring on each side. In one ring, you’ll see a beautiful world filled with waterfalls and lush forests while on the other, you’ll see devastation and corruption at every turn. At the center, you can explore Space with low gravity and asteroids containing plenty of resources to survive!
ASA DLC Lost Island – August 2025 (Non-Canon Map)
After such an epic adventure with the Genesis DLCs, you can get lost in the Lost Island DLC in August 2025. Offering new challenges, new creatures, and mysterious ruins, you’ll be in for quite the journey. Don’t miss out on the exciting jungle adventure when this new DLC releases with plenty of treasures to find!
ASA DLC Fjordur – October 2025 (Non-Canon Map)
Are you worthy enough to lift the hammer of Thor, Mjolnir? Inside the last ARK: Survival Ascended roadmap DLC expected for October 2025, players will be taken to a Nordic-style world. You’ll traverse multiple islands, looming castles, dense forests, and different realms like Asgard, Jotunheim, and Vanaheim. Watch out for the deadly creatures though, as you may just encounter a Fjordhawk or a devastating Fenrir!
