ARK: Survival Ascended GenesisOcean Resource Map

Take the fight underwater on the Genesis Part 1 Ocean map in ARK: Survival Ascended. The Ocean is one of five biomes inside the Genesis Simulation, and it changed more than any other in the move to Ascended. What used to be a contained pod is now a massive, map-wide ocean built on a completely overhauled water physics system, carrying dynamic waves, realistic buoyancy, islands to land on, and hidden fortresses worth breaking into. Below the surface it drops away into deep undersea trenches. Oxygen drains more slowly here than it does elsewhere in the game, and air bubbles sit scattered through the water, so a long dive is survivable in a way it would not be on another map. That changes how the biome plays. A base does not have to sit on dry land, since rafts and underwater platforms both work, which means a tribe can push out from the shallows and keep going, dragging its supply line down with it. Light thins the further you swim. Sound carries strangely. Everything living down here is bigger than you, faster than you, or already behind you. Flying mounts are switched off across almost the whole of Genesis Part 1, so there is no skimming over the top of this one and calling it explored. The Ocean has to be swum, and the survivors who learn its trenches early tend to be the ones still standing when the rest of the map turns hostile.

Megachelon anchors the biome, a giant turtle slow enough to work as a movable base rather than a mount, with a shell wide enough to carry a tribe's crafting stations and storage. Ascended adds Palaeoctopus, the tenth Creature Vote winner and a creature that never existed on the original Genesis map, climbing cliffs on crushing tentacles and seizing two targets at a time. Around them swim the X variants, tougher versions of familiar animals, with X-Megalodon, X-Basilosaurus, X-Mosasaurus, X-Dunkleosteus, and X-Ichthyosaurus all patrolling open water. Glitches hide beneath the surface as well as above it, and fixing the underwater ones pays out the same Hexagons that buy resources, engrams, and loot crates from HLN-A. Moeder, Master of the Ocean, is not something you stumble into while exploring. She waits in her own arena, entered deliberately, and clearing her is a checkpoint on the way to the Corrupted Master Controller that closes out the story. Bring a rebreather, bring a tame that can take a hit, and bring people you trust, because the Ocean punishes solo confidence harder than anywhere else in Genesis Part 1.
