ARK: Survival Evolved Engine Settings – Customize Your Server

ARK Engine Settings Customization – Introduction

Inside an ARK: Survival Evolved server, you and your friends travel to a prehistoric world where you’ll encounter dinosaurs and plenty of other creatures. Stranded on the island, you’ll need to collect resources, create tools, and build a base to protect yourself from those dinosaurs. Often, doing this can be tedious and can lead to hours upon hours of resource collecting. To avoid these time-consuming tasks, you can edit ARK engine settings on your server to speed things up.

ARK engine settings are a set of advanced options that you can edit, with different settings compared to your general server options. The changes you can make within this file include increasing engram points per level, raising tamed dinosaur damage, adding to the gain rate per harvested item, and more. With these changes to ensure less grinding and more building and questing, you’ll be able to focus on playing the game with friends. Below, you can learn about the many engine settings and how to edit them on your ARK game server!

Engine Settings for ARK Survival Evolved

ARK Engine Settings allow you to have the user interface generate desired setting changes into the Game.ini automatically (later, we will show you how to edit the Game.ini manually). Engine settings are active by default. However, you cannot use engine settings if the Expert mode is active. The engine settings will disappear if Expert mode is enabled. The engine settings were designed to provide easier access to advanced configurations and we’ll show you how to edit these settings.

    • If Expert Mode is enabled, deactivated this setting in your “General” ARK settings.

    • Then, we recommend stopping your ARK server fully before making server changes.
    • Next, on the left side under “Settings”, select “Engine Settings“.
    • This menu allows you to edit specific values of the game.

    • Near the bottom, you can find a dialog box called “Custom Game.ini Settings“. Within this setting, you can add your own ARK game.ini settings and their values to instantly add those to your file.

    • After making changes, press “Save” and then start your server to apply changes.

How to Add Per Level Engram Points

Engram points are gathered when you level up. These are crucial to your success in the game as they determine which blueprints you can unlock when leveling up. Here we show you how to alter the engram points with the ARK Engine settings. These values define how many engram points you earn at each level.

    • Head to your ARK server webinterface and stop your server.
    • Go to “Engine Settings” under the “Settings” section.
    • Scroll down until you find the section “Per level Engram Points
    • Click on the green “Create new setting” button.

    • Enter the number of engram points you want to earn for the next level, level 2. Afterward, press “Save changes” to save that level.
    • Repeat this process as many times as you’d like to add more levels and engram points to those levels.
    • If you make a mistake or need to delete a level, you can use the edit and delete options that are next to each of the levels.
