ARK: Survival Ascended Silica Pearls The Island Resource Guide

ARK: Survival Ascended Silica Pearls The Island Resource Guide

As you progress in ARK: Survival Ascended, you will discover new and interesting materials, with silica pearls being one of them. At first glance, they may seem like a simple decoration item, but they are very important. These are a key ingredient for crafting aquatic suits and electrical components, which is the most important. These components are essential for automating your base, making the acquisition of pearls vital through the game.

    Silica Pearls

Silica pearls are an excellent resource as they allow us to create electrical components that will be very useful for base automation. Additionally, they are an ingredient in crafting the aquatic suit that allows you to move more freely in the water.

You can find pearls in various locations on the map, such as beaches, shallow rivers, or in the depths of the ocean. They will have an oval appearance, resembling regular rocks in color and texture. That’s why you need to be very attentive to your surroundings to spot them. It is worth mentioning that if your game is set to low quality, the characteristic texture of the shells may be lost. This makes them a bit harder to see from a distance, but is still recognizable!

    Silica pearl Collection

There are several ways to obtain silica pearls, from collecting them with your own hands to training a creature that collects them for you. Here we will review each method you can use to collect pearls on “The Island” map.

    Manually

This is the simplest method as it does not require any extra items. You just need to approach the area where silica pearls can be found to obtain them. These areas include shallow rivers or beaches where you can dive without problems.

    • Arctic Beach at Latitude 11.3 Longitude 13 to Latitude 9.4 Longitude 22.9: This area is in the north, it is quite easy to reach, and you just need to walk along the beach to find 10 to 15 silica pearl nodes, along with other materials like crystal and oil.

    • Frozen River at Latitude 28.9 Longitude 30.6: Just outside the frozen cave, you will find a small stream almost covered by ice. Here you will find silica pearls underwater! This is one of the safest places to collect them due to the few marine creatures that can attack you. However, you must keep an eye on your temperature because the icy waters can freeze you to death. While there are no aggressive creatures underwater, there are some around, so be careful when exiting the water to avoid being devoured.

    • North Beach at Latitude 9.1 Longitude 31.7: On this beach, you will encounter the same creatures as in the previous location, so you need to be very attentive. Additionally, the water is still freezing. The difference is that in this location, the silica pearl shells are easier to spot.

    • Small Peninsula at Latitude 9.4 Longitude 39.7: This small peninsula is very close to the previous point; however, here you will find far fewer creatures that bother you. It also has a shallow beach, so you can observe the silica pearl shells even from the air.

    • Coast at Latitude 33.6 Longitude 12: This is one of the coasts where you will surely find silica pearls without having to venture far into the sea. Although the resources are there, they can be hard to see due to the vegetation growing around them. Not to mention, it is freezing water. Forcing you to work fast so you don’t get frozen. You also need to be aware of sharks that complicate the entire operation.

    Mounts

The following locations are a bit farther and more difficult to reach, so you will need to rely on a creature to transport you there. In this section, the Anglerfish shines as it is the perfect companion due to its ability to collect pearls by biting the sea floor. Additionally, it is quite agile, perfect for escaping the large creatures that usually roam the depths.

    Marine Points:

    • Silica Pearl Cave at Latitude 10.4 Longitude 4.5: While you don’t exactly need this dino to farm the cave, you will need a diving suit to get there. You just need to reach one of the penguin islands and descend vertically to reach the entrance. Inside the cave, you will find around 15-20 silica pearl shells.

    • Latitude 93.4 Longitude 4.3: You will find many silica pearls at the bottom of the ocean in this area. Aggressive creature activity is very low, so you can collect pearls without any problem.
      Silica perls under the sea
    • Latitude 97.8 Longitude 7.6: At these exact coordinates, you will find a small cave. The entrance is a bit difficult to find, but inside you will find a large supply of silica pearls. Don’t worry about aggressive creatures as none appear inside this cave.
Silica perls under the sea 2
    • Latitude 93.1 Longitude 96.7: This is a very dangerous marine point as aggressive creatures like sharks appear throughout the area, so you need to be well prepared. The cave entrance is at the base of the rock next to the sand. This cave is larger than the previous one and also contains many silica pearls inside.
Silica perls under the sea 3
    • Latitude 90.3 Longitude 93.7: At the back of this small island, located in the south of the map, you will find a good amount of not-so-deep silica pearls. You just need to dive and reach the first seabed. In this area, not many aggressive creatures appear, so you can collect calmly. However, if you go deeper, you will encounter hostile creatures.

    Other Sources of Pearls

    Beaver Nests

Beaver nests are an excellent source of pearls as you just need to find them and empty their contents to find a decent amount of silica pearls.

    • Latitude 88.7 Longitude 60.8: North of a small island, there is a large number of beavers constantly building their “nests” around that area.

    • Latitude 81.1 Longitude 38.9: It is the beginning of a small river where many beavers appear. You can follow it upstream and find some nests with pretty good loot. However, you need to be very careful as there are many aggressive creatures around.

There are more locations on the map where you can find beaver dams, but these are the most accessible from very low levels as you usually start your adventure near these areas.

    Otters

Taming an otter is one of the easiest ways to obtain silica pearls. Once you have your own otter, you just need to send them hunting in a fishing area. After some time doing their job, they will return to you with a small shell in their hands. You just need to pick it up and enjoy your silica pearls. Plus they look adorable with the shell between their paws.

    Trilobite

    Trilobites

These small crustaceans appear on tropical beaches at dawn. Killing them and collecting their resources gives you a chance to obtain silica pearls or even black pearls. It’s a fairly simple but very circumstantial method since if you miss the sunrise time on the beach, you will have to wait a whole day.

    Scorched Earth map

    Scorched Earth

In the arid plains of Scorched Earth, pearls are a bit harder to find, but it is a resource you can obtain. Here are 3 of the best locations to collect pearls in this inhospitable map.

    • Latitude 70 Longitude 39
    • Latitude 35 Longitude 49
    • Latitude 48 Longitude 53

    The Center map

    The Center

This map has a very diverse geography and is much larger than The Island map, so it has a large number of locations. However, the following 3 are perfect to start your adventure, as you don’t need equipment or creatures to collect pearls.

    • Latitude 46 Longitude 64
    • Latitude 45 Longitude 58
    • Latitude 12 Longitude 56

    Conclusion

Silica pearls are a valuable resource for technological advancement in ARK, so it’s important to know how to obtain them. Now that you have all the necessary information to get pearls, you can collect them from an early stage in your game. Whether you’re searching for them in streams or diving into the depths of the sea, finding pearls will no longer be a problem for you.
