The trident has a noble lineage, both as a tool of hearty fishermen and vengeful gods of the sea. It’s such a simple design, a spear with a forked edge, but there’s a certain beauty in the simplicity. Or at least it damn well should be, considering how much you have to go through to snag a trident in Minecraft (pun unintended). But even if you finally get that Trident, why settle for anything less when you can have the best? To ensure you have the most power, here are the best Trident enchantments that you can use on your Minecraft Gameserver.

To get a Trident in survival mode you’ll need to kill a Drowned, an enemy water creature that seems to be like a zombie but gleams more. Drowned show up around evening time in water biomes, so you’ll need to watch the region and jump down under the water until you see one. At the point when you do, attack it with your weapon until it dies, but beware, the Drowned are more than capable of throwing Tridents like Neptune himself. You’ll have to dodge Drowned before you can reach them and even after all that hard work, Tridents only have an 8.5% drop rate [Java Edition] and 25% drop rate [Bedrock Edition].

Now that we were able to collect a Trident, how do you enchant them? There are two ways to enchant a Trident: using an enchantment table or an anvil. Using an enchantment table is fairly simple and works like any other weapon or tool. The normal mechanics of an enchanted table apply.

To enchant a Trident with an anvil, you will need to combine two Tridents together or use an enchanted book. Chances are that the Trident dropped by a Drowned is already enchanted. Combining two enchanted Tridents will give you a weapon with multiple or leveled enchantments.
With the Trident, there are quite a few enchantments you can access including basic enchantments and exclusive enchantments.

A solid enchantment available for almost every weapon and piece of armor in Minecraft. Unbreaking helps to increase the durability of your weapons and armor, greatly improving your tools like the Trident depending on the level of the enchantment. The higher the enchantment level of unbreaking is, the slower your Trident’s durability will go down.
Mending is another important enchantment that helps prevent a Trident from breaking. This enchantment uses the experience you naturally gain from activities such as fighting mobs or mining, and repairs the items to which it is applied. As long as you gain experience during your game, your Trident should never break.

This makes the Trident loyal to the player. Like a boomerang, the Trident returns to the player every time it is thrown when having the Loyalty enchantment. The speed at which the Trident returns increases with each enchantment level, with Loyalty III being the maximum. It conflicts with Riptide, but can be used in combination with channeling.
This is the only exclusive Trident enchantment that can be used alongside all the others, probably because it’s not really versatile and is only effective when fighting mobs in water. Impaling increases the damage your Trident does against underwater mobs. Since it doesn’t conflict with any enchantment, it’s worth putting on your Trident to gain an advantage against underwater mobs.

One of the quickest strategies for movement in the game, Riptide permits players to throw their Trident, propelling them forward toward that Trident. This can be utilized in any sort of water whether it be waterways like the sea, in the downpour, or in water put somewhere near a container. While this is the most flexible and useable Trident enchantment, it clashes with both Loyalty and Channeling.
The Trident is a powerful weapon to have in your arsenal. A Trident comes in handy in various situations, so it’s perfect to get a Trident and have it with you. Combining a Trident with the enchantments above makes for a much better experience as you speed through the waters with Ridtide, repair your weapon with Mending as you slay enemies, and avoid unwanted repairs with improved durability from Unbreaking. These enchantments make fighting the Drowned army for a Trident worthwhile. So what are you waiting for? Grab your friends, challenge the Drowned, and get your own enchanted Trident on your Minecraft server!
