Survival is a rugged challenge where you’ll need to gather resources and build a base which can take a lot of time. Therefore, it can be extremely frustrating if you encounter a game corruption such as your ARK tribes becoming corrupted.

This type of issue can occur for different reasons such as the world improperly saving or a mod breaking your world upon removing it from your server. While this can be quite annoying, thankfully, there is a way to fix this. In this guide, we will show you how to repair corrupted files on your server so that you can continue your ASA adventure where you left off!

How To Fix ARK: Survival Ascended Corrupted Tribe Files

1. Head to your ASA server webinterface and stop your server.
2. Next, login to your FTP using an external FTP program.
3. From there, we recommend backing up all of your server files onto your PC.
   
   • This will create a full backup of your files in case you need them again.
4. Then, in your FTP, head to the location: /arksa/ShooterGame/Saved/SavedArks/WORLDNAME
5. Within the worldname folder, find the .arktribe file.
   • A good way to tell if this is corrupted is by comparing the size of this file to the .tribebak backup file. If the .arktribe file is smaller, it is likely corrupted.
6. After finding the file, delete it. Then, rename the .tribebak file to .arktribe.
7. Next, back on your server webinterface, to the left press “Restore Backup”.
   
8. In this area, restore the most recent Map Save Backup you have of your server.
9. In the server web interface, navigate to the Restore Backup section and restore the most recent Map Save Backup, this will restart the server.
   
   • Afterward, verify that the corrupted .arktribe file you fixed wasn’t restored. If it was, you’ll need to contact our support team to resolve this.
10. Lastly, start your server to ensure everything loads correctly.
    • If the server still refuses to work properly, we recommend trying an older map backup restore. Once done, test your server again.

After you have successfully followed these steps, you’ll be able to get back into your server and begin your next dinosaur adventures with friends!

Note: If you do not have any .tribebak file, you’ll need to delete the .arktribe file. When doing this, those who are in a tribe will no longer be part of it, however, using admin commands you can ensure players are given back access to their tribe items/tames.
