GATHERING MATERIALS TO CRAFT A PAINTING

As you get ready to craft a Minecraft painting, there are several resources that you’ll need to collect first. Here is a list of what you’ll need to get before crafting a Minecraft painting:

1. (1) Crafting Table | Crafting tables are one of the most vital tools in Minecraft, offering the ability to create nearly any block through your gathered blocks and items. To craft a crafting table, enter your Minecraft inventory and place four of any wooden planks together. The output will provide you with your own Minecraft crafting table!
   

    

2. (1) Wool | Wool is an essential block in Minecraft for making many different crafting recipes. You can collect wool by killing a sheep, shearing a sheep, and within naturally generated structures such as Woodland Mansions, Villages, Pillager outposts, and Ancient Cities.
   

    

3. (8) Sticks | The glorious Minecraft stick is the last item required to craft a Minecraft painting, created using one of two crafting recipes. When you combine two of any wooden planks or two bamboos stacked on each other, the crafting table will provide you with sticks.

REMOVING A PAINTING FROM A WALL IN MINECRAFT

When it comes time to remove a painting from your building, there are various ways a player can remove the painting. The painting can be removed by being punched, breaking its supporting block, covering the painting with a block, hitting it with an arrow, ender pearl, snowball, or fire charge, or exploding the painting. That Minecraft painting will then drop as an item that can be picked up and placed again.

GETTING DIFFERENT MINECRAFT PAINTINGS

CREATING YOUR OWN CUSTOM PAINTINGS

Custom paintings are possible in Minecraft, but only by using Minecraft plugins or mods. The Minecraft plugin Custom Images is an example of one of these plugins that can be added to a Minecraft server in only a few steps. Below, we will show you how to install and use the ImageOnMap plugin for your Minecraft server!

1. Download the latest version of the Custom Images Minecraft plugin.
2. Head on to your Minecraft Bukkit server control panel. Minecraft (Bukkit / Spigot) is a server type for Minecraft that allows plugins to load and work properly.
   • If your server is not yet on the game Minecraft Bukkit, use the “SWITCH GAME” option on the bottom left of your server panel to change the server to “Minecraft (Bukkit / Spigot)”.
     
3. While on your Minecraft server panel, on the left side under “TOOLS”, select “File Browser” to access your Minecraft server files.
4. In your server file browser, go to the location: \minecraftbukkit\plugins\
5. Inside your server’s “plugins” folder near the bottom of the page, click “Upload file” and upload the Custom Images plugin.
   
6. After uploading that plugin, go back to your server “DASHBOARD” and restart your server.
7. Once your server is online, join your dedicated Minecraft server.
8. On your server, you can now type the command /image create <image name | URL> to turn online images into paintings and right-click to place that painting.
   • Aside from image URLs, you can upload png and jpeg images to the newly created “Images” folder in your server’s plugins folder and then use the image name in the /image command.
9. That image will now appear on your server as a custom painting! If you wish to remove this painting at any time, use the command /image delete and right-click on that painting.
