Palworld New Feature – Internal Save Games – Introduction

We know how hard it is to lose game progress, so we want to do everything we can to give you as many safe restore options as possible. Therefore, we have made internal save games for Palworld available to you. This means that a number of save games, saved at set intervals, will become available to you as defined by the game developer. Due to this, Nitrado is unable to adjust this feature. To make sure that the number of backups does not fill the disks on our game server hosts, we have restricted it to 30 save games.

How to Restore Palworld Internal Backups

1. Go to your Palworld web interface.
2. On the left, press “Settings” and then “General”.
3. In your options, use the “Start with backup” dropdown to select a backup.
   
4. Once selected, press “Save changes” to confirm that backup.
5. Lastly, start your Palworld server to restore that backup.

RCON for Palworld Force Saves

RCON has been brought to Palworld servers and with it, players can take advantage of its powerful feature to force saves. To take advantage of the new RCON feature, you can use a tool such as the program RCON-cli to trigger saves, as well as perform smooth server stops/restarts.

If You Have Already Restarted Your Server

• After restarting your server, this new feature will have been automatically added.

If You Have Purchased a New Palworld Server

• The feature will automatically work on your server after purchase.

If Your Palworld Server is Already Running

1. On your web interface, restart your Palworld game server.
• If your Palworld was already restarted on or after 2024-07-11 08:00 UTC, this setting is already active on your server.
2. Upon restarting, the new feature for internal backups will be applied.
3. Once your server is back online, new Palworld internal backups will start being created for you. These will appear in the “Restore Backup” section of your server.
4. These backups are also synchronized to your data folder which can be accessed using “Tools” and then ”File Browser”.

• 5 save data per 2 min
• 6 save data per 10 min
• 12 save data per 1 hour
• 7 save data per 1 day

Manually Restoring a Palworld Backup with Files

Alternatively to restoring internal backups in our web interface, you can also restore saves manually using your Palworld server files. To proceed with this process:

Downloading a Palworld Backup from Files

1. Stop your Palworld server.
2. Then, install a FTP program.
3. From there, open your server’s web interface:
   

4. From there, scroll to the bottom of your server panel to find your FTP information. Use this to login to your FTP.
   

5. In your FTP program, navigate to the “world” directory:
   

6. Grab one folder and move it to the left side in the FTP program (winscp) to a place on your computer.
   

Next, we’ll cover how to upload that Palworld backup file into your files.

Uploading a Palworld Backup from Files

1. Proceed to stop your Palworld server.
2. Then, open your server’s web interface.
   

3. Then, get your FTP credentials from the web interface and login.
   

4. Navigate through the files (path) to the save folder and delete the save that is no longer needed.
   

5. This is an example of deleting the current save:
   

6. Grab from the left side (winscp) what is in the save folder and move it to the other side (service) in the main save folder.
   

7. Afterward, close the FTP program and start the server.

You’ll have now successfully restored your Palworld backup to your server from your files!
