Aberration DLC Release for ARK: SA

As of September 4th, anyone who owns ARK: Survival Ascended can install the new Aberration DLC for free. In cases where you want to play with friends on a game server, we make it easy for you to set up the expansion for multiplayer. If you additionally want to install mods for your server as well, you can do that by following this guide here. Explore a vast array of strange environments, all of which is underground in a corrupted ARK. Expect many caves, radiated areas, and mushroom spore locations – along with tons of other features.

New Creature: Yi Ling

As previously mentioned, there’s a brand new creature with this DLC expansion. Introducing Yi Ling, a community-voted winner that made its way to ARK: Survival Ascended. This is similar to the Deinonychus, as it can glide and climb up cliffs. Yi Ling also shoots highly destructive projectile attacks, making it a dangerous creature for any player to encounter in-game. Besides this, there are familiar dinos in the Aberration DLC that were in the SE original version. Experienced players will instantly recognize them, such as the Bulbdog or Rock Drake.

Wildly Different Map

Out of all the DLCs released for ARK: Survival Ascended, Aberration is the most unique kind. There’s a wild amount of strange environments to explore, as everything is underground. Players will need to traverse through dangerous cave systems, which may include rock climbing. As for the wildlife, mutated creatures will roam the areas – waiting for their prey.

Throughout the map, there are different zones full of their own traits. For instance, radiated areas pose great risk to players if they aren’t quick enough to navigate past it. Another example is a large mushroom spore biome, making it an aesthetically pleasing location for a base. However, there’s an exclusive boss waiting for you in the Aberration DLC expansion. Its name is Rockwell, which will be remastered in Unreal Engine 5!
