Purge Update in Conan Exiles Age of War Chapter 2
When first entering the Conan Exiles Age of War Chapter 2 update, it’s important that you have some information about the Purge update. Within Conan Exiles, purges were simply where enemy NPCs would be sent across the Exiled Lands from neighboring nations to raid, pillage, and destroy everything they run into. Now with the new Age of War, purging has been completely redesigned and expanded, giving purpose to the attackers. Below, we’ll break down all of the changes you can expect to see when you encounter a purge on your Conan Exiles server.
How Will Purges Change in the Conan Exiles Update?
First and foremost, the biggest change to purges is that you and other players will now be able to trigger a purge. This will be done by proclaiming wealth to attract the Stygian invaders for a purge. The difficulty level of that purge will then be set by the size of your hoard, with there being higher rewards for more difficult purges. After proclaiming your wealth and beginning a purge, a Stygian war camp will form near your base, sending waves of attackers toward your opponents.
Inside these waves of attackers, there’ll be different types of troops based on the difficulty of the purge. Some attackers will even be carrying battering rams to breach walls. Their goal is to steal as much of your treasure as they can and if they become satisfied with the loot, they’ll stop the purge. With these revamped purges also comes the possibility to defend against them and stop them entirely. In the section below, we’ll outline how you can protect yourself from these new purges in the Age of War!
Protecting Yourself Against the Oncoming Conan Exiles Purges
When you’re in the face of an oncoming purge in Conan Exiles Age of War Chapter 2, you’ll need to bolster your defenses to stay alive. In this update, players will now be able to build stronger defenses, use traps, and employ burning siege cauldrons near games and doors to stay protected. As well, a new thrall placement option will allow thralls to guard gates or doors for improved defense.
If you’re able to defend and defeat enough Stygian invader waves, you’ll then have the opportunity to face the Hand of War. This deadly enemy will challenge you and if defeated, will drop a key that unlocks chests in the Stygian’s war camps. These offer plenty of exciting loot, which we will cover further in the next section!
Inside the Stygian War Camps – Conan Exiles Age of War Chapter 2
After getting a war camp key from defeating the purge and the Hand of War, you’ll gain access to the entire Stygian camp, its loot, and even its prisoners. You’ll find the chests scattered throughout the camp itself where the waves were sent from. Then, you can find Stygian prisoners, including Isscar the Sellsword, a new NPC vendor that will accept treasure as payment. There is sure to be even more to discover as you explore these camps on your own Conan Exiles server hosting!
More Loot, Gear, and News in the Age of War
Improved Loot & Combat
This update is already packed full of exciting updates and changes, but that isn’t the end. On top of the powerful changes to purges, loot across the Exiled Lands has been improved. Now, much of the loot that you’ll find will ensure the game is more immersive, logical, and rewarding. To top off the better Conan Exiles loot, the developers have also sprinkled in improvements to the combat experience. This includes improved stagger consistency and fluidly adjusting the direction of your attacks. As you slay across the Conan Exiles map with enhanced combat, you’ll find yourself gaining much more valuable rewards and gear along the way!
New Battle Pass and Cosmetics
A new Battle Pass and cosmetics are also coming to Conan Exiles Age of War Chapter 2. So far, not much is known about the Battle Pass and Bazar, but we have been given insight into them. The developers have confirmed a mighty pyramid building set and a “boatload of other cosmetics” will also be coming. We’re extremely excited to get our hands on these new building items and cosmetics to deck out the Exiled Lands!
Chapter 3 to Bring More Purge Upgrades Plus Roadmap
That’s quite the update in itself but the developers went further to provide a look into what Conan Exiles Age of War Chapter 3 could hold. So far, the developers have stated they will be expanding on thrall placements, allowing you to station archers on top of walls. Turrets in Conan Exiles would be immensely beneficial in these new purges. As well, the roadmap shows details that PvE sieges, another Battle Pass, and more store & free content will be included.
