Project Zomboid Admin – Server Guide

Project Zomboid Admin – Server Guide

Project Zomboid server hosting has many adventures in store for you and your friends. You need to collect loot, upgrade your character and learn new skills to survive in the apocalyptic world. When it comes to getting everything done, it can be difficult while hordes of zombies roam around, leading to frustration if you die. To help prevent this, you can use the power of a Project Zomboid admin.

Being an admin on a Project Zomboid server gives you the ability to manage every aspect of your server. Whether you need to whitelist the server, add an admin, kick a player, or spawn in some zombies. Before you can use commands, you’ll need to use an admin password to activate admin for your account. In this guide, we will show you how to find and use your Project Zomboid server’s admin password to use commands on your server!

How to Become a Project Zomboid Admin

To begin, you will need the Project Zomboid server admin password. You can find the password within your server settings if you are the server owner.

    1. Head to your Nitrado Web Interface.
    2. Then, to the left under “Settings”, click “General”.
    3. In your settings, find and copy the “Admin password”.
    4. The Admin password field in the Main section of Settings > General in the Nitrado Web Interface” /></p>

    Important.

The admin password and the server password are two different settings, and both live under Settings > General in your Nitrado Web Interface.

    • If your server does not have a regular server password, you only need the admin account: enter the admin password in the Password field on the Add New Account form, as described above.
    • If your server has both a regular server password and an admin password, you must enter both. Enter the server password in the Server password field when you add the server to your favorites, then enter the admin password in the account’s Password field.

Failing to enter the regular server password when required will result in an error indicating an incorrect password.

    Admin Commands

Once you have access to Project Zomboid admin settings, you’ll be able to use the assortment of commands available on your server. You can use our Project Zomboid admin commands guide to see a list of all commands you can use on your Project Zomboid server. Below, we’ll include some of the most popular commands you can use on your server.

    Useful Project Zomboid Commands

    • /setaccesslevel <player> <role>: Provides a player with a specific role and permissions on your server. The levels on a standard server are user, priority, observer, gm, moderator, and admin, which you can learn more about in the admin commands guide.
    • /godmode & /noclip: Using god mode will make your character invincible while noclip allows you to travel through any objects/walls that stand in your way. When used together, you can go to and see any part of your Project Zomboid world and server.
    • /removeuserfromwhitelist <player>: Removes a player from your server whitelist. A whitelist protects your Project Zomboid game server from random players joining, which is useful when you want to play with only friends or family.

Bring along your friends and discover where your zombified adventure leads next as an admin on your own server!
