Every player will need this to enter your world, instead of an IP address and port. Finding Your Invite Code

Every Windrose server relies on a specific invite code (which must be at least 8 characters long) to allow players to discover and access the world. Before setting sail, you must retrieve this code from your web interface. Follow the steps below:

1. Head towards your Nitrado web interface for the Windrose server.
2. Locate the Invitation Code at the top left from the Dashboard.
   
3. Copy and save the code for later use in-game.

Editing Your Invite Code

Sometimes, you may want to personalize your connection details or generate a fresh code for a brand-new crew. Customizing your invite code ensures you always maintain total control over who has access to your high-seas adventure. Follow these steps to manually update it:

1. On your Nitrado Web Interface, navigate to Settings > Config Files.
2. To access your server’s core configuration details, select ServerDescription.json from the dropdown menu.
3. Locate the “InviteCode” line, then carefully replace the existing text with your new, preferred code.
4. Save your changes and restart the server to ensure your new invite code becomes active.

Important: Always double-check that your invitation code contains at least 8 characters and uses only letters and numbers (a-z, A-Z, 0-9) before sharing it. If your code is too short or includes unsupported special characters, the in-game join button will remain unclickable, preventing anyone from connecting. Additionally, if your chosen code happens to be used by another server simultaneously, there is no need to worry – the game will simply display both servers in the list, allowing your crew to easily select your world and enter the password!

Locating Your Server Password

To keep unwanted players out of your server, you may want to set or check your password. A secure world guarantees your loot remains exactly where you left it. There are no restrictions on server passwords, meaning any character length or combination is perfectly fine to use. Follow these steps to locate it:

1. On your Nitrado web interface, navigate to Settings > General.

   2. Password: Enter your preferred server password to protect your Windrose server.
      

Joining a Windrose Server

With your invite code ready and server password set, follow the steps below to join a Windrose server:

1. Launch Windrose, then click Play and Connect to Server in the menu.
   
2. Enter or paste the Invitation Code in the text box and click Find.
   
3. Once your server appears on the screen, you will see its details, including the server name, players online, and the difficulty level. If you have password protection enabled, a password field will also be visible here.
   
4. Enter your password into the field, then click Connect to join the server!
