Command The Seas

The ocean is expanded and now there’s dynamic wave systems, making the whole experience feel more immersive. You’re no longer riding on flat rafts that ignore currents – instead you can build customizable wooden vessels to sail across the massive waves. If you fail to account for weather, you can easily capsize. In the future, this upgrade will slowly roll out to other maps too!
 
The ship mechanics require a complete adjustment in how tribes think about base building. Builders install individual decks, masts, and steering wheels directly onto the hulls. This turns a mobile platform into a floating fortress. Wood and thatch supplies burn down fast when repairing hull damage from cannon fire. Keep this in mind if you’re fighting.

Conquer Hostile Biomes

Moving away from the ocean, solid ground offers you the original hazards from the classic map – but updated with Unreal Engine 5. Three biomes stand out immediately while you explore Genesis:

• Arctic Biome: Freezing air in the Arctic region forces characters to wear thick fur gear to survive.
• Volcano Zone: The Volcano zone features active lava flows that destroy misplaced structures instantly.
• Lunar Biome: Extreme radiation levels and low-gravity jumps define the Lunar biome.

 
Make sure you are well equipped for these areas, as they can quickly defeat you.

Horrors of The Deep

The new creatures completely change how tribes approach ocean exploration. The community voted for the Palaeoctopus, which is easily the most terrifying addition to the underwater roster. Here are some quick notes about that:

• Palaeoctopus: Ambush predator Palaeoctopus uses sea floor terrain to hide before launching tentacle attacks.
• Tidepup: The Tidepup stays by a survivor’s side and learns directly from combat encounters.
• Companion Mechanics: This companion enters a dormant state instead of dying permanently when a fight goes wrong.
