How to Connect to Your RedM Server

Before you and your friends can dive into the wild west of RedM, there’s one essential step: connecting to your server. Whether you’re building custom roleplay scenarios or exploring new frontier experiences, getting connected is your starting point. In this Nitrado guide, we’ll walk you through two simple methods to join your server: Direct Connect and the in-game server browser.
 

Finding Your Server Details

First, you’ll need your server’s connection information from the Nitrado Web Interface:

1. Log in to your Nitrado Web Interface
2. Navigate to your RedM server dashboard
3. Locate your IP Address and Port, then copy it.

Method 1: Direct Connect via Console

The Direct Connect method is the quickest and most reliable way to join your server, especially if it has just started or isn’t yet visible in the server list.

1. Launch RedM on your computer
2. From the main menu or in-game, press F8 to open the console
3. Type the following command: connect [IP:Port]
   Make sure to enter the IP:Port without the brackets.
4. Wait for the server to load its resources. Once complete, you will be connected.

Method 2: Join via Server List

If your server has been online for a short period of time, it will begin appearing in the public server browser.

1. Launch RedM and click Play from the main menu.
2. Enter your server name in the search bar.
3. Select your server from the results and click Connect.

⚠️ New servers may take up to 8 minutes to appear in the public server list after startup. If your server doesn’t show immediately, this is expected behavior. If you need to join right away, use the “Direct Connect” method above.

Troubleshooting

I can’t find my server in the list
It may not have appeared yet. Wait a few minutes or use Direct Connect with IP:Port.
I get a server error when connecting
Double-check that your IP and port are correct and that your server is running in the Nitrado Web Interface.
The server asks for a password
If a password is set, you must enter it exactly as configured, including correct capitalization.
