How to Change the Map Seed in Minecraft

How to Change the Map Seed in Minecraft – Introduction

Changing the seed in Minecraft allows you to create a unique world with different landscapes, structures, and resources. From bubbling lava-filled worlds that seem like they’re entirely underground to vast ocean worlds where little land appears. Whether you want to start fresh with a new world or recreate a specific seed you’ve found online, this guide will walk you through the process of changing your seed in Minecraft.

    Finding the Perfect Minecraft Seed

    1. First, you need to determine which seed you want to use on your Nitrado server. You can find these seeds online for any popular Minecraft map or with specific features for the style of play you want to have.
    2. Let’s assume you want to play with the seed from the Sakura Season map. This seed has the following identification number: -5584399987456711267.
    3. Keep in mind that the seed begins with the “-” sign, an important detail because if you don’t add it, the generated seed will be different.

We can now proceed to set that Minecraft world seed onto your server!

Configuring the Minecraft Seed to Your Server

If you were already playing in a world, you will need to delete the previous world to ensure you can generate it with the new seed. It’s recommended to plan out starting on a fresh world before you begin these steps. This way you will not lose any type of progress or construction

    1. Once you have selected the seed, let’s log into your server interface. Stopping the server is very important before performing this procedure so let’s click on that. You can find this button at the top right corner of the web interface page.

    2. Next, click on “World Manager“.

At the top, click on the red button that says “Delete“, and the previous world will be erased. If your server is new you don’t need to do this step.

    3. After this, click on “General” under the “Settings” section.

    4. At the top, in the search box, type the word “seed“.

    5. This will bring up the “Level Seed” section, where you should enter the seed number you want to use, the one you looked up earlier.

    7. Once finished, click on “Start Server” at the top right corner and enjoy your new seed.

As a final note, if you want to experiment with other worlds/seeds, you can keep your current world saved and just change the world name and seed for a different one using the server.properties file under Config Files.
