ARK: Survival Evolved server hosting brings you and your friends on wild journeys across dinosaur-filled lands. One such journey, ARK Extinction DLC, is finally making its way to ARK on the Nintendo Switch and is planned for April 11th!
 
Teeming with corruption, the Extinction DLC is a massive new map for ARK: SE. In it, you’ll discover new biomes including unique biome domes, over 10 new creatures, and brand-new features to discover like orbital supply drops filled with mighty gear. What’s Inside ARK Extinction DLC for Switch

The World of Extinction

When you first enter the world of ARK Extinction, you’ll notice the map is laid out uniquely. In each corner, you and your friends will discover isolated biomes, each surrounded by an apocalyptic desert. These diverse biomes include the city of Sanctuary, Desert Dome, Snow Dome, Sunken Forest, Wasteland, and Forbidden Zone, the most dangerous of them all. New Creatures and Corrupted Technology

As you travel through every new biome, you’ll meet many new creatures along the way. Each creature and dinosaur has conformed well to their environments, ready to bring harsh fights and make for great tames! Here are some of the creatures you’ll encounter while on Extinction:

• Snow Owl – Free flowing in the sky, the Snow Owl is found in the Snow Dome. Using its antennae to track prey with heat vision, the Snow Owl is able to swoop down for an attack. Once tamed, the Owl can prove to be a valuable asset with its ability to transport players, carry items, and fight other creatures.

 

• Velonasaur – A resident of the Desert Dome biome, the Velonsaur is a slower creature but the concern it brings is from the shooting spikes on its face and back. When shot toward a player, these spikes can deal enormous damage.

 

• Managarmr – Alongside the Snow Owl in the Snow Dome, the Managarmr can also be found there. Speedy with wings, this creature can dance around players with incredible speed while dealing minor damage. While it isn’t the strongest creature in ARK, its speeds more than makeup for this with lightening fast transportation.

Deadly Boss Fights

With the new creatures also came the inclusion of new bosses – four to be exact. Themed after the various biomes that they dwell in, these Titans will prove to be dangerous forces of nature. Alongside your friends, you’ll need to collect the best gear, weapons, and resources to ensure survival. You may even need to build and jump inside a mech to win these dangerous fights against the corruption!

Orbital Supply Drops & Elemental Nodes

Inside the lands of ARK Extinction, you’ll explore, discover new creatures, and fight dangerous bosses, you may notice other fascinating features of Extinction that seemly fall from the sky. Orbital supply drops and elemental nodes. Featuring different types and sizes of each, these drops contain different rewards that you get after protecting and harvesting these nodes. Upon dropping, an event starts where waves of enemies will come after the node to destroy it. If defended successfully, you’ll get rewards like Elements, rare resources, gear, and powerful weapons and armor. It’ll definitely be worth running toward one if you see it falling from the sky!
