Within the world of ARK: Survival Ascended, you can encounter many creatures to conquer as you explore. Sometimes though, you might feel the need for new challenges and more powerful creatures to face and tame. This is why we’re presenting to you the ARK Primal Chaos mod, which not only includes powerful new dinos but also new items, weapons, armors, and more.

This exciting mod is based on Primal Fear, previously designed for ARK: Survival Evolved. Since its release, it has remained a highlight in the community as it adds difficulty and novelty to the game. This allows players to explore mechanics in a slightly different way, adding specialized elements for each of the new types of creatures. Additionally, with its constant updates and the continued work of the developers, we can expect much more from ARK Primal Chaos. Below, we’ll dive into some of the many features you can expect while playing this mod with friends on your own server!

Creatures

The experience within the mod wouldn’t be the same without these exciting new “primal” versions of the base creatures, which gradually become stronger as their class increases. These improved versions of dinos are divided into the following classes, listed from weakest to most powerful as of their latest updates:

• Beta: Slightly larger than normal and a bit stronger, they have greenish colorations with white.
  
• Alpha: Larger than betas and more powerful, they have a reddish and white coloration.
  
• Elementals: Divided into 3 types, each with characteristics of the element they belong to, and they also leave a debuff with qualities of the element on the enemy.
  – Electric: A small amount of lightning is visible circulating around the creature.
  – Volcanic: They appear to have skin covered in magma or lava.
  – Water: They are visually completely blue.
  
• Advanced Elementals: There are varieties, divided into 2 types:
  – Shadow: Dark-colored with a dark mist surrounding them.
  – Fairy: They have a pink color covering them.
  
• Mythical and Legendary: These are the largest creatures in the mod and have more power than the previous creatures.
  
• Demonic and Celestial: These creatures have greater attack power and special effects when performing their attacks. So far, only a few demonic creatures are active, including the Gorilla and Dodo.
  

Throughout the map, you can also encounter new bosses to face, which will increase in difficulty according to their tier. They can also be tamed.

Taming

Introducing new creatures also means there are some new special ways to tame them. The process is as follows: first, you’ll need to sedate the dinos with special narcotics, stronger than those in the vanilla version. Once they are unconscious, you’ll have to give them a special kibble, according to their tier.

New Special Items & Tame Materials

Among the new items brought by this mod, we find a series of items solely for taming, such as kibble, narcotics in the form of darts and arrows, and taming paste. Additionally, we can find potions and specialized ingots for crafting weapons and armor.

• Kibble: These items are simple to create, requiring a combination of berries, vegetables, and eggs, depending on the tier required. It’s recommended to have a garden and a farm to obtain ingredients more easily and efficiently.
  
• Narcotics: Narcotics or tranquilizers are vital for capturing dinos, and like kibble, they increase according to the tier you need to capture. You can find new arrows and darts within the mod
  
• Taming Paste: This paste facilitates taming wild dinos. The mod includes 4 new pastes that increase the value by x50, x100, and x250.
  
• Healing Potion: Within the mod, you’ll also find 3 new improved options: Beta, which heals 5% of life every second for 10 seconds; Alpha, which heals 10% of life every second for 20 seconds; and Mythic, which heals 15% of life every second for 40 seconds.
  
• Special Ingots: In the mod’s special forge, you can create special ingots of each tier by mixing blood from the tier you want to create with normal ingots.
  

New Tools and Armor

With such powerful creatures, we need improved armor, and that’s where we find the 2 new armors. To create them, you’ll need special materials included in the mod, such as ingots and skin from certain dinos that you can obtain from alpha and beta dinos:

• Beta Armor (20 armor, 25 durability)
• Alpha Armor (80 armor, 50 durability)

Tools

It also includes 2 sets of tools with greater power than those in the base game, Beta and Alpha. These tools cause more damage than normal ones, making farming much easier and faster.

Structures

The mod features two unique structures whose sole function is to create the mod’s exclusive items: the Refining Forge and the Chaos Smithy. The forge is exclusive for creating specialized ingots, while the smithy allows you to create all the mod’s exclusive items.
