On your ARK: Survival Ascended server, you’ll search for powerful loot to advance your ARK adventure. To do this, you’ll take different paths with your friends on the ARK: Survival Ascended maps and cross canyons, large valleys, and swampy mangroves. How to Change the ARK: Survival Ascended Difficulty Level

Adjusting the Override Official Difficulty Setting

1. Enter your ARK server webinterface.
2. In the left navigation bar under “SETTINGS”, press the “General” option.
   
3. In your ARK settings, scroll down until you see the ARK difficulty level setting “Override official difficulty”.
   
4. Adjust the option, increasing its values to increase the ARK server difficulty.
   
5. After making those adjustments, press “Save changes” at the bottom.
6. Then, restart your ARK: SA game server.

Editing the Difficulty Offset Setting

1. Head to your ARK: SA server webitnerface.
2. In the left navigation bar under “SETTINGS”, press the “Config Files” option.
   
3. In that file below [ServerSettings], copy and paste “DifficultyOffset=1.0” there.
   
4. Afterward, edit that to your preference.
5. Lastly, press “Save changes” and restart your server.

NOTE: All non-tamed dinosaurs currently will need to be wiped from your ASA server to allow for higher-level dinosaurs to spawn. Ensure you have admin access and then run this command on your server:
cheat DestroyWildDinos

The ARK difficulty level on your server will now be ready to challenge your players and bring them better rewards in return!

Find Your Suitable ARK: SA Server Difficulty Level

The ARK difficulty level includes the maximum level of creatures and “Override official difficulty” and so adjusting these to fit the correct difficulty for your server is important.

An easy method to setting the correct values for these options is to first change the “Difficulty Offset” to 1.0. Then determine what you’d like the maximum creature level to be divided by 10. Change the “Override official difficulty” to that value. As an example, if we were looking to set the maximum level to 200, we can set the Difficulty Offset to 1.0 and the Difficulty official override to 5.
