HOW DO I FIND DIAMONDS IN MINECRAFT?

MINING DIAMOND ORE IN MINECRAFT

On the hunt for diamonds, we’ll need to get the correct gear to mine diamonds and then find them! Firstly, we’ll need an Iron Pickaxe to be able to mine diamond ore. You’ll need to have made a Wooden Pickaxe and then a Stone Pickaxe to mine the iron. If you do not yet have Pickaxes, follow these instructions to make a Wooden Pickaxe and a Stone Pickaxe right after.

HOW TO MAKE A WOODEN PICKAXE

1. Starting into the world of Minecraft, use your fists to punch trees and collect wood.
2. In your Minecraft inventory, place the wooden logs under the “Crafting” section to make wooden planks.
   
3. After, grab four of the wooden planks and place them in the “Crafting” section, one in each slot, to make a Crafting Table.
   
4. Next, place the Crafting Table on the ground and then enter its inventory.
5. Following this, craft sticks using two wooden planks. The sticks will be used as the handle for the pickaxe.
   
6. Finally, put two sticks and three wooden planks together to create a wooden pickaxe.
   

HOW TO CRAFT AN IRON PICKAXE IN MINECRAFT

1. Using a wooden pickaxe or better, start by mining into caves until you find iron ore. Iron ore can be found at most heights in Minecraft but is most common around heights y 255 and y 15. Once found, use your wooden pickaxe to mine the iron ore.
   
2. While you’re in the cave, you’ll also need to collect at least 9 cobblestone blocks by mining stone blocks and coal from mining coal ore blocks. If you are struggling to find coal, we’ll show you an alternative in step 4.
3. Next, open your Crafting Table and create a Furnace using this recipe with the 9 cobblestone blocks:
   
4. Afterward, place the Furnace and access its inventory.
   • If you were unable to find Coal, you can make Charcoal instead. To make Charcoal, place any extra wooden Logs in both Furnace slots to smelt them.
     
5. While still in the Furnace inventory, add the Coal or Charcoal to the bottom slot and then add Iron Ore to the top slot. After a few moments, Iron Ore will be smelted into Iron Ingots.
   
6. Lastly, enter your Crafting Table and place 2 Sticks and 3 Iron Ingots in this configuration to make an Iron Pickaxe:
   

DIAMOND LOCATIONS IN MINECRAFT

With an iron pickaxe in hand, the last step is to find diamond ore. Head to your preferred Minecraft cave in your Minecraft server world and start digging down carefully to the y-axis level 15 and lower. You’ll want to avoid digging directly down, as this can lead to falling into lava and losing your items which I have done so many times. 😭 To monitor your y-axis height, you can perform the following steps based on the Minecraft version you’re playing on:

• Java Edition(PC) – F3 key on keyboard
• Bedrock Edition(Windows 10, Mobile, Xbox, PlayStation, and Switch) – “Settings” → “Game” → and turn on “Show Coordinates”

Diamond ore is found at y-axis level 15 or lower, but is most common between y -50 and y -64. The best level to search is between y -58 and y -59, as bedrock begins to spawn at level y -60. Once you have found diamond ore or deepslate diamond ore, use your iron pickaxe to mine and collect those diamonds. You’ll now be equipped with a bunch of diamonds to begin creating sparkly powerful diamond gear!

FINDING DIAMONDS THROUGHOUT MINECRAFT

While mining diamonds is one of the fastest methods to getting diamonds in Minecraft, you can also find diamonds as loot. SMELTING DIAMOND ORE INTO DIAMONDS

Along with mining diamonds, you can also mine and get the ore blocks. To do this, you’ll need to use an enchantment table on your pickaxe to get the Silk Touch enchantment.
